SOLD, AWAITING SHIPMENT! I have always loved the Elite I P Basses because they are so much like a P Special from the same era. They have a tone all their own with the Elite pickup and active electronics, but it's undoubtedly a P tone all the way! The best thing about these is the wide, flat "C" neck which is 1 3/4" wide at the nut just like my old standby 1959 Precision. It's the most comfortable neck ever made! This one has an ash body finished in rare cimarron red sunburst that's in fine shape overall with just a few scuffs & dings from 40 years of steady playing. The elite hardware is gold-plated and it's all in great shape except the bass side of the bridge; there is a good deal of corrosion from the original owner resting his palm there. But it's not a physical distraction and doesn't take away from the overall look of the bass. The electronics are quiet and deliver classic P tone with a bit more oomph due to the 9-volt preamp. The bass does weigh 10 3/4 lbs which is typical of the 1977-83 Fender era. I've got an original molded P case with this one that has two broken hinges but lays flat and opens and stays closed with no problems.
